Coming from Portland and other northern locations, take Highway 99 connecting to Highway 18 through McMinnville. Lincoln City can also be reached by following Interstate 5 and catching Highway 22 through Salem. Other coastal communities can find Lincoln City by traveling Highway 101 north or south.
Portland International Airport is the closest major airport to Lincoln City, serving most major airlines, with access to Caravan Airport Transportation directly to the Coast.
Driving Conditions
Before embarking to the Oregon Coast, check the Oregon Department of Transportation’s website, TripCheck, to see current driving conditions. The Coastal Mountain Range pass to Lincoln City does not often get much snow, at 700 feet elevation, but it never hurts to check during winter months.
Public Transportation
The Coastal Connector loops from Salem to Lincoln City. Salem’s pick-up starts at the Amtrak Train Station and drops off at Chinook Winds Casino Resort with transfer options at Spirit Mountain Casino in Grand Ronde. There are three round-trips per day.
North By Northwest Connector has a service network from Portland to Lincoln City and the Coast and has three- and seven-day visitor passes.
Electric Vehicles
Green travelers are welcome to recharge in Lincoln City, which is connected to the West Coast Electric Highway. There are three public electric vehicle charging locations, located in public parking lots near shopping, restaurants, and bed and board.
