Depoe Bay (South)

High on the cliffs eight miles south of Lincoln City, Depoe Bay provides dramatic views of fishing boats, winter storms and migrating whales.

Whale Watching Center
As whales migrate between Baja, Mexico and Canada, they can be seen just offshore from Depoe Bay, and the Whale Watching Center is a perfect location to watch them play. Oregon State Park staff are on site and equipped with information and powerful binoculars.

Whale, Sealife & Shark Museum
A keen focus on individual gray whales that live around Depoe Bay year-round, in addition to exhibits that highlight additional marine life from tide pools to seals and sea lions to sharks.

Whale Watching
Depoe Bay is the Whale Watching Capital of the Oregon Coast—with migrating whales seen twice a year, as well as a resident pod of gray whales who call Depoe Bay home year-round. Whales can be spotted at the Whale Watching Center or from the top of the seawall. Whales can be spotted up close by taking a local charter boat out to sea to watch these incredible marine mammals frolic and play.
