Spring To The Beach
Spring on the coast is a really magical time. We get a break from the winter rain with short days and we join the flora and fauna by getting outside and soaking in some much needed sunshine.
Local hikes and scenery are vibrant in color and it is truly a breath of fresh air for all. Everyone is itching to enjoy it.
Learn to Shred
Did you know Lincoln City has one of the coolest skateparks in Oregon? Skaters from all over the state come out to share this incredible 40,000-square-foot concrete jungle. Dreamland Skate Parks first started this project back in 1999 and at the time was referred to as “the gnarliest skate park in America” by Thrasher Magazine. It now has four separate bowls: The Moguls Bowl, The Cradle and Half Pipe (covered), The Swimming Pool, which features tight transitions, and the newest addition, the Snake Run. It’s an amazing place to simply grab a picnic and watch as skaters learn new tricks and shred around. Don’t forget your helmet - they're required for ages 16 years and younger, but encouraged all around.
Take a surf lesson! Always seen it but been too scared to try? Not to worry, all three surf shops: Safari Town, Zuhg Life, and Lincoln City Surf Shop, offer lessons. We'd suggest a lesson for those newer to the sport. The ocean is beautiful yet can be a dangerous place, get the basics of water safety down before you start shredding. For those more comfortable, all three shops offer rentals as well. Wetsuits, booties, gloves, surfboard options, boogie boards, SUPs, you name it.
Drinks, Al Fresco
The sun is out and you just got done adventuring all day, or you spent all day inside and need to feel that spring air, Aces Sports Bar & Grill has a beautiful view of the Chinook Winds Golf Course. It’s on a hill so you really get a visual of the towering trees and green courses. They have quite the selection, with 28 rotating taps to choose from, wine, and cocktails. If you're on the other side of town, visit Beachcrest Brewing and enjoy a craft beer in their outdoor and open beer tent, overlooking the Salishan Golf Course. Bonus, you'll find live music there every weekend! If you are itching for that big blue ocean view, Kyllo's is a no-brainer. Located right on the west side of D River, you can enjoy signature cocktails, beer, and wine all while soaking in the sights of waves crashing in the distance.
