A virtual tree lighting, drive through craft pick up, and much more to kick off this December.
Following the Thanksgiving holiday, the Lincoln City Cultural Center had its annual community tree lighting. Although part of that tradition was lost due to gathering restrictions, they shifted their countdown and experience to be virtual. From a cookie and craft packet pick-up drive-through, a drop-off box for letters to Santa, and live music including sing-a-longs, they kept the tradition alive and lit up the Cultural Center with a huge Christmas tree brought to them by Noble Creek Tree Farm and Lincoln City Towing.
The Cultural Center had to close its doors in March, but thanks to our strong community and a few donations, their programming never stopped. They have handed out thousands of "Creative Quarantine" art kits and began streaming live performances regularly. They don't plan to slow down this month. Christmas is a favorite of theirs and they are committed to spreading holiday cheer amidst restrictions. This December, be on the lookout for virtual yoga sessions, Creative Quarantine craft ideas, and more. They also host a variety of virtual experiences on their website from local performers to performers across the United States.
They encouraged locals to bring unwrapped toys and nonperishable food through a donation drive-through on "Giving Tuesday." These donations went directly to the Food Pantry and the North Lincoln Fire and Rescue Toy Drive to spark joy for those struggling this December. On top of that, they gave YOU a gift in return, because they are all about spreading the love. We are so thankful for those hard at work at the Cultural Center and can't wait to see what's next.
If you would like to donate to them directly, or to a specific campaign such as Creative Quarantine Crafts, visit their website.
